Cana is my  Heart dog and will always be!  I love her so much and have been thinking about how little time I'll have left with her.
I also love Duke very much.  He just has a different place in my heart.  He is just such a good dog and not a mean streak in his little body. luvsmile

I know I couldn't get another dog right away, but there are so many dogs out there that need homes, that eventually will adopt again.
They may not have the same place in my heart that Cana has and always will, but I feel that there is a space somewhere for another poor little dog
that needs to be rescued.

That's very touching and quite thought provoking too. Thanks for sharing it.

I will always miss my Kahaus, but I'm definitely not the type to wait on getting another dog. I'm with Janet in that having another dog to take care of, while not replacing the one you lost, does keep you busy and help you to move on as you grieve. If I had been in a place to do so, I probably would have gotten an "Erie" far sooner after KK passed than I actually did. But, I suppose everyone deals with grief a little differently.

First of all AJ you scared the crap out of me posting a post in Rainbow bridge.... thud

Secondly it's beautiful..it truly is.

I miss my others dogs still and they've been gone a long time.  Carmel died in 1990 and Ginger died in 2001.  When Ginger died i just couldn't adopt again for over two years.  It hurt too bad.

Hopefully i won't wait as long after Molly goes to the bridge which i just can't even think about.  I love every part of her furry little body.   luvsmile

You can never replace the dog that you lost in your heart~ you can only make your heart a little bit bigger to include a new one.

I've been having a rough couple days.  Missing my dogs makes me miss my mom so much.  This just put me over the edge.  I had a good cry and now I feel better.
this is so touching.

I don't believe in fate or destiny. I believe in various degrees of hatred, paranoia, and abandonment. However much of that gets heaped upon you doesn't matter - it's only a matter of how much you can take and what it does to you.
