Newest victim... Kind of a sad story.. Turned into animal control, owner surrender skin and bones, covered in fleas and ticks and dieing... A very nice couple that adopts death row dogs from ACS and finds them homes on their own saw him and felt terrible for him... They adopted him just to take him to the vet to be put to sleep. The vet tells them with care and time and attention they may be able to save him. So they do, and he does! They have him for 4 months and no one will adopt him because he is OUT OF CONTROL!! My rescue partner in crime agrees to take him! He is 4 months old. She has 85 to 100 dogs at her house so no time to train... He makes it to 10 months old and is still OUT OF CONTROL!! He gets into a massive dog fight and is ripped open about 12 inches along his back. She elects to euthanize because he is OUT OF CONTROL and she can't handle him! He's picking fights, chewing on her, harassing the pack and now he's going to cost several hundred dollars to fix! I offer to take him hoem if she will stitch him shut, she relents! She likes him a lot but can not have him at her house! I take him home crate him for 2 weeks so the stitches can heal! After 2 weeks we let him out of his crate and discover... A BRAIN!! He has a brain! It's just locked far far away in a THICK THICK THICK SKULL! He is now housebroken!! He knows sit, down, stay, shake, off and kennel! He is still an instigator but my dogs wont have any of it! They know the rules and they know the consequences! Rufus will learn them to in due time! He is turning into a delightful dog to be around!

Rufus landed in the right place! You'll have in tip-top shape in no time. Love that face...you can tell he's a "troublemaker".

Yay for you and the awesome second (or third) chances you give so many dogs. Rufus could not have landed in a better brain activation manners learning place. He is a biig 10 months old !

Rufus officially has a home!!! He went on a trial adoption on Sunday and I just got off the phone with the mom and they LOVE him!! I asked her twice and she swears it's not an April Fools!! She says he is EXACTLY what they were wanting!!!!! His long wait is OFFICIALLY over!! This was a HARD one for me!! Rufus was a special guy and he will always have a special place in my heart. I cried the first two nights he was gone, but hearing how much his new parents love him makes it a little easier to deal! I will always love him though.

Your tears just show how much you care. Rufus will have a good home now with caring people. All due to your hard work and willing to care.

Update... They changed his name to "Spencer" and he is already responding to it! He is running 6 miles a day with mom and loving every minute of it! HE plays nicely with their neighbors dogs, and their dog and tries to play with their cat... (My cats play back) A few rough days initially with housebreaking accidents, inappropriate chewing and jumping on people... I warned them though, he likes to test you the first few days... she said since then his real personality has come through and they adore him!
