Aw, poor little Moppet! So glad he came through surgery, now keeping him in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!
Thanks to Bennett for helping the little guy out, too!
Looking forward to updates on his recovery!

Finally a picture!! He's up and around this morning!! He ate really well and took his meds like a good boy! As long as things continue to go well I will pull his catheter tomorrow and in 3 weeks he will be up for adoption! Sorry the pic isn't great... It's from my phone, I still cant find my dang camera charger! Thats really bad to because I need to get updated pictures on the site for Rufus!

I came home to see if we had an update. He is really cute. It's hard to believe that someone could be so cruel to such a cute, little dog. He's looking pretty good; he'll probably be adopted in no time at all.

I am so very very happy he's getting a second chance. Every animal should know love in their lifetime.

LOL... Little pulled four stitches out... I was only gone three hours and he hadn't even LOOKED at his stitches before that... three from his scrotum and one from his stub... Heading back to Doc in the am for a re-suture! Guess he's feeling better... also... I started hunting down you kiddos on Facebook!! If I didn't find you come find me! If you've gotten the invitation for Homeward Bound Dog Rescue, that is the org I work with! I started a facebook page for us! Spread it far and wide!!

What a cute little thing. He will make such a great companion to somebody. What is is with doggies in our care and stitches recently ! Did they all get a secret message to drive their humans nuts ! Can you go look at a FG page without having a FB account ?

I see Homeward Bound on Petfinder all the time in our area. I didn't realize the rescue was so extensive. I agree, something naughty is in the air for all of our dogs to be overly fascinated with de-stitching themselves.

Layne, we post from here to Dallas because I have family there and don't mind driving up for the right home... We had to put two staples in his stub... and he didn't mind those... but when we put a staple in his scrotum he definitely protested... It was not pretty! He's got a GIANT cone on now...He got around the pro-collar...

Being a guy I would offer that the scrotum stapling is by far more traumatic and stressful than losing a leg.

Being a guy I would offer that the scrotum stapling is by far more traumatic and stressful than losing a leg. That is exactly what Pete said... I told him we used Lidocaine and he requested if he ever needed that he be killed, quickly stapled and then revived! Dr. BH Is feeling kinda cruddy this morning, not bad, just not great either. He ate breakfast and took his meds and is snoozing in a crate now. I am hoping he feels good enough tomorrow to accompany us to the adoption day! I want people to see what their carelessness/neglect/abuse can cost a dog...

I hope not, he's on a very good abx and also a very good pain med so hopefully it's just recouping blood lost, feeling cruddy, I had a staple put in my scrotum ickyness!

I'd be feeling more than cruddy if somebody stapled me while awake (me awake, I hope the stapling person would be awake and alert).
Feel better soon and leave those saples alone, Mr. BH.

He may just be feeling cruddy recovering from everything he has been thru in the past week. He has gone thru a lot of changes in his life. A new life, amputation, scrotum stapling... He deserves a day of rest.
