I'm rootin' for some poopin' from the little guy.
Are any charges being pressed against the owners who surrendered him?

Well, if you were not in that city, you could not make a difference in the little guys life. Glad you are there.

Oh jeesh, what a horrific abuse he endured. Damn, I really hate people sometimes. I hope the previous owner gets the crap kicked out of him many many times in his life.
Sending tons of poo poo vibes also.

Moppet poop is a wonderful thing.....and at times like this is the best of things! He still has some rough days ahead with the surgery and all but he now has a chance at a happy life.

Uggghhhh... I came home after our adoption day and he had poo smeared all over his face and head... As I'm telling him a good boy for pooping and simultaneously cursing him for pooping on his face somehow Pete tells me he pooped and then tried to bury it with his blanket but fell face first in it thus smearing it all over his face... Dr. Bunsen Honeydew got his second bath of the week tonight... I can't find the darn battery charger so I can upload pics of him!! I'll commit to looking tomorrow so I can post his picture!! He is the most hilarious looking little guy!!

Glad he is still pooing. I wonder if he was burying it due to being beat up for it in the past. Poor guy has a lot of adjusting to do. Rolling in his own poo reminds me of my horse Fireman. He is on stall rest for a couple more months and he can get a little rambunxious in his stall. Since he is so big and a little bit wild, the ranch hands are afraid to go in and clean his stall, so they do not do his as often as others. There are many times I have had to bathe Fireman because he rolled in it. Very disgusting. Tonight when I was scratching his back I could smell he needed another bath. UGH!

I'm just glad he went! Technicality on the details where. Reading this thread brought back memories of my last dog Ginger. When we first adopted her and she would poo , she would always cringe. Every single time she would cringe. She had to have been yelled at or more for pooping. So , what i did was every single time she would go i would praise her and hold a little party. When she died 10 yrs later i still was saying Good Girl Ginger everytime she poo'd. I now say it for Molly everytime she goes.

It's funny, but sad too, how dogs will adjust normal behavior to protect themselves. When I brought Kaden home, I hired a positive trainer and behaviorist to assess him. She said he was not displaying normal signals for a dog most likely due to abuse. He learned that certain behavior would get him hit or worse. The worst was his behavior before biting. He acted like Kiva all happy and wiggly and submissive and when someone got close, wham. He turned into demon dog and would bite the out of them. He really got my neighbor's boy bad. Janet might be right about hiding the poop to avoid being punished. Or else he learned to hide it so he could eat it later if he was not being fed. Anyhoo...... he's on the road to a better life now and I can't wait to see the pics.

Woo hoo for Poo!!!! glad to hear he went. I hope his surgery goes well and he recovers fast. I still cant understand why anyone would ever want to hurt an animal. must have been some coward, thinking he is big and bad for beating up on a little defenseless dog. I hate people....but I like you guys.

Getting ready to leave work with the little man. He lost a LOT of blood in surgery for such a lil guy. He was super shocky for a bit and needed a blood transfusion. Luckily Bennett is a willing blood donor and just (happened) to be on hand! He's doing pretty well now, REALLY out of it but I've got him drugged to the hilt.

Great job Bennett for being there to help the moppet. I hope his first night after surgery will go smoothly and that he will improve steadily. He is in the bestest possible place for his recovery.

Today at work I told a lot of folks about this little one. Waiting to get home to check the board almost gave me a break down. Too bad on the rough go in surgery but thankfully Bennett was there for the rescue. Waiting on another update in the morning.
