i have given my senior newf rimadyl on and off for about six years, no ill side effects, my sister had her GSD on rimadyl for seven years, she lived to fourteen years of age, my newf will be 11 in november.
i do not give new fangled drugs, i refuse to use the all in one pills for hrtwrm and for worms.
instead, i use, ivermectin, dilute it, with vets care, i give proper doses to my guys.
i also use panacur crystals on mine twice a year.
when preggy, the girls GET NOTHING no hrtwrm nothing.
we have done this for 12 or more years with no ill effects.

I'm still in the process of writing the paper.  It looks like it might take me most of the summer, 'cause there's just so much information out there.  I'm meeting with my advisor this week to discuss specifics.  I'll let you guys know how it turns out.  I still can't thank everyone enough for sharing!  blushthanks

Scout was on Solid Gold hundenflogen and had pretty bad gas which just seemed to get worse(if you can imagine). I spoke with the pet store owner and he suggested that I switch to something like eagle pack or california natural, because barley can cause gas in some dogs. Well it's been over two months on the eagle pack and Scout not only loves the taste of it his gassiness is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better!
