Jack and I have an agility trial this weekend!!  bouncy2 bouncy2

We're actually leaving around noon to go up to my Aunt's house until Sunday, it should be a blast.

Wish us luck! And that Jack behaves himself!

See ya Sunday with the results, and hopefully a lot of pictures  wink2

We're baaaaaaaack!

Jack did fantastic..and ALMOST had a perfect weekend (qualifying wise) but blew it by getting too many faults on the standard run. Oh well, we came home with 4 firsts, 2 seconds and a third. And more than that he was very well behaved in his crate and at my Aunt's house. I'm so proud of my boy!!  Grin

Pictures will be coming later, I didn't get any at the actual trial but do have plenty of him and his Labby girlfriend Amber.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Heck, he would have won hands down on everything if you would have showed them his 'get the beer' trick!  beer

We just got home from another one today! We left eeeeearly this morning, I got lost and thought I'd miss the Day of Show entry deadline, but luckily they still let us enter.

Had a decent day despite the heat. He had 5 runs today and only placed in 3 (a first and two seconds), and NQ'd (didn't qualify) in the other two. He was doing stupid things though like going around jumps and seeking shade under the A-frame. Finally I got smart and hosed him down and he did a little better after that.

We stopped on the way home and got ice cream, now he's passed out at my feet, silly boy.

That is great he did so well.  I am glad you figured he was overheating too and needed relief.  Smart woman you are.
I always think the border collies and the shelties are the toughest to beat.  They are born for agility.  It is cool when other breeds do so well too. Grin

Never updated the last one...whoops!! He was a butthead that day and it was just waaaaay too hot for the black dog. One time I just walked him off the course as he wouldn't even ATTEMPT to weave. The dog before us pee'd on it, so there was some excuse, but his brain just wasn't there. I finally built a new set of weaves and we've been practicing in all sorts of new places with new smells, I'm hoping it'll pay off. He has always weaved perfectly at home, but at a trial it's always been hit or miss.

We're going over to Dexter tomorrow though to another trial, though!!  bouncy2 His first indoor trial...we shall see!

Yeah, getting them desensitized to as many environments as possible sure helps.  Snart thinking.
We do that with the horses.  Somethings still get to them, but not too much for our broken in horses.  Now the filly is a different story. ::)I also use to take my dogs everywhere when I obedience trained and showed in obedience trials.  I even use to work them in the rain and on windy days when I could.

Well...after his first run of the day I called my mom and told her I was trading him in.  Roll Eyes But he redeemed himself and ended up doing much better in the last three.
