ok, raw feeders...

so I can get live chickens for 1$ each. is that worth it if i still have to pay someone to do the rest of the work?
assuming that it's a good deal and once the feathers are off, what can i feed to the dog.. i'm assuming most if not all, but like, insides, and out?

and....what about rabbit?

eeek I'm even grossing myself out

What size is the chicken?

I know a woman that raises rabbits. She has a price for--

the whole dead rabbit, depending on size/weight,
whole rabbit with skin, gutted,
rabbit skinned and gutted,
fully dressed out,
and so on.

You could just take care of the chickens yourself... lol.

Good luck with that one!

One day when I get a house, I'm getting chickens to lay eggs for me. That'll be awesome.

$1.00 chickens is a good deal, but finding someone who will process them is going to raise the rate quite a bit I would assume. Most that I know who feed whole chickens usually remove the head, legs, feathers, and most of the offals saving the liver. But that depends on you. I have seen many dogs raid a coop and take off with the bird and eat  all of it. How much raw has Daisy eaten? Regarding rabbits, Lauri feeds them to her gang. Juliette Levy, a pioneer in natural dog rearing warned that she felt rabbits bones were too brittle for dogs. She mostly fed lamb and goat.

Your a brave woman Claire!

I would give it as is to Daisy to see how she does with it before you spend the extra money to have someone process it.

There's a woman in my coop who tosses her dog the whole chicken, feathers and all.  Pretty sure she had the head cut off, but I'm not 100% positive.
