If I said what I really thought, Dave and Terri would boot me off this list! Mabel is being a great nanny to Scout. She had to growl at him so that he would leave her alone to take a nap, but he needs to learn boundaries and doggie manners and I think Mabel will help him. I'm glad good minds are thinking alike!

Poor baby He's in good hands now. I can't believe a shelter would euthanize over scabies! I'd understand a shelter euthanizing for demodex in some situations, but scabies? Its so easy and cheap to treat! It never ends! Ain't that the truth. Once you think you've got ahead of the game, along comes another one that needs help. I think Cana needs a young man to toy with

I think this is an appropriate emote for his previous owners and everyone like them: "He's in good hands with Anna State."

He's great! He thinks he runs the place now and is bossy and barking at the other dogs. Mabel is the most patient with him and allows him to crawl all over her and tug on her ears and jowls.
I have never seen a puppy that could put away so much food and still be hungry! He is eating nearly a pound a day and coming back for more. Poops are firm and nice and he does not seem to have any problems. His itching has stopped and he is having the time of his life barking and growling and ankle biting!
I'm off to work for the day. Right now he is crated with a beef braid and some toys. Mark will be home in a couple of hours for lunch to feed him again and let him out. Gotta run get Mabel her breakfast before I get on the road. I have a 200 mile round trip today, so I better get started.
Have a great day!

You are too amazing Anna. I wish everyone who has great animal hearts would have all the money ever needed to provide homes for these babies. From pups to adults. That way we could all share some more love with a lot more animals without ever having to say no to a pet in need. That is my dream someday.

Gosh, he's a cutie pie. Damn the friggin' a-holes who bred him and the doo doo heads that dumped him like trash AND the shelter who was going to kill him. to them all. On the other hand.... Anna

Here are some updated pictures. It is amazing what a few days of food and care can do for any dog!
