Oh AJ, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for the pictures to upset you. She is going to MAKE it! I know it in my heart and the slobber on my leg is telling me all her systems are working. Don't worry. She is out of the woods. It's all downhill from here. Anna She's going to make it, A.J - she gained more than half the weight she had before she came to Anna and she's got many years to come. AJ, in homeopathy, one of the signs to look for in healing is the disposition of the patient. Even if the physical symptoms are not improving or even getting worse, an improvement in personality, temperament, and over all attitude is a sign of healing--the life force or vital force is getting stronger. I have full faith in Mabel. Along with good food and a comfortable place to live and recover, Mabel is responding to love.
I know, I understand all this! It's just very hard for me to understand why she's like this in the first place. I usually don't open links or read these kind of things. I'm not in denial of these things! I just can't handle them. Now Cana's jumping up at my face again 'cause I'm sobbing again!

She's getting fuzzier, sturdier and in that one picture, she looks like she is smiling. I think she looks more like a bloodhound now!
Layne, that was so sweet. That almost brought a tear to my eye!

Cana is a good a girl for trying to cheer up her mum! She needs some ice cream. I have question about Mabel's color. Every dog I have had has had pink skin and Mabel's is blue. Is that the normal color for a BH or is it from her weakened condition?

I don't know about the skin of a Bloodhound but Daisy's chest is partly blue as well.

Willy, my red/white pittie mix has darker skin where his color is darker, the mantle Dane I've been fostering also has dark skin where she is darker.
Mable's skin is of course thicker and possibly somewhat discolored from her condition, but more than likely, it is a normal skin tone for her.

More then likely that is her normal skin color. Many dogs have this color skin.
Rex is pinkish brown but Princess is the same as Mabel but just a tad lighter in color. Bijou's skin was a bright blue!!!

I think it's pretty normal for her breed. And I think some of it is due to yeast.

I'm going to speak for AJ here and say I think she's crying happy tears?
I know i get chills when i see mabel and how far she's come in such a short time.
If it wasn't for someone that cared and set this chain of love in motion I shudder to think where mabel would be now.
Ok~ molly just stole the keyboard from me.
Psst~ mabel~ tell anna to save the crust of her pizza for you~ there one of my favorites!
Love Molly

She has come such a long way but I understand how emotional it is to looka at photos of her. To know what a healthy dog is supposed to look like and to see what she has become at the hands of humans is hard to think about. But then again, to see what she is becoming in the loving hands of Anna - well, that's pretty emotional too!

I posted three pictures this morning to the other thread, comments about Mabel. But since you would like more I will post some here of her playing with Atticus and Charlie this morning. She got her Jammies dirty, so we have to do a wardrobe change! Anna and Mabel

Last one. Mabel taking a breather after playing with the boys. Time for her to eat again! I'm off to the kitchen. She is eating nearly four pounds of food a day!
Thanks everyone!
