Since I am a newbie here, is this where you would prefer me to post new pictures of Mabel, or do you want them in the other thread? I do have some new ones just waiting for your direction. Anna

Yeah for Mabel getting her first raw bone! A good raw diet will do wonders for her. The great thing about doing rescue yourself is that you can feed raw. The Cairn rescue groups I belong to all restrict what the dogs can eat while being fostered or transported. Mabel is looking better. I can't until her coat really starts to show.

As for hairy bests, well, husband is one too. I often have to shave his back, but that is discussion for the grooming section! Miss Mabel did gain 3.3 pounds this week. I was a little disappointed, but considering the three days of runs, and the KC, she did as well as can be expected. Not to worry, she is eating like a pig and being a sweet and welcomed pest. I've got to run and get ready for a romantic date with my Sap of a husband. He has offered to buy me a slice of pizza at the newly opened deli in our local Sam's Club store. Talk about a cheap date. At least he's not expecting me to cook today. I'm lucky I suppose. Thank you all for your prayers, love and support. Anna and Mabel

Oh AJ, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for the pictures to upset you. She is going to MAKE it! I know it in my heart and the slobber on my leg is telling me all her systems are working. Don't worry. She is out of the woods. It's all downhill from here. Anna

She's going to make it, A.J - she gained more than half the weight she had before she came to Anna and she's got many years to come.

She is looking great! Isn't it awesome to see the changes first hand? I know with the generalized demodex dogs I have and have had, the changes are slow and gradual, but once they start really mending, you see changes almost daily.
I have such a good feeling about Mable, I'm sure she's going to have many good years ahead of her. Whoever is her forever home, if they aren't DAers already, they darn sure better join!

AJ, in homeopathy, one of the signs to look for in healing is the disposition of the patient. Even if the physical symptoms are not improving or even getting worse, an improvement in personality, temperament, and over all attitude is a sign of healing--the life force or vital force is getting stronger. I have full faith in Mabel. Along with good food and a comfortable place to live and recover, Mabel is responding to love.
